Eau Devin

Fortified wine

Eau Devin is made from the Acolon grape, and contains 18% alcohol.

This fortified wine is made of eau de vie de vin or wine spirit. ‘Eau Devin’ is said to give you the talents of a ‘devin’ or a fortune-teller.

Aperitif, e.g.: in combination with tonic, or as a dessert with fruit or cheese of character.

Tasting Notes

  • Colour: intense rosé with purple reflections
  • On the nose: much fresh and cooked fruit with kirsch impressions
  • On the palate: fortified wine with a playful structure, with spiciness and a touch of sweetness, longer finish 


Kerner must fortified with wine alcohol, blended with pressed wine of Pinot Noir.


Viticulture and terroir

Soil: sand-loam mixed with Diestian sand, ironstone, flint stones and gravel. Underneath this, well-drained layers of Ledian and Paniselian sand.

Climate: cool temperate climate influenced by the North Sea

Sustainable viticulture: defoliation, green harvest, 10 km of indigenous hedges and sowing flower seeds to attract natural predators, sowing grass to prevent erosion, using compost
