Méthode Traditionnelle, Brut
Bacquaert Brut consists of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The alcohol percentage is 12,5%. It is a gastronomic sparkling wine that is not only ideal as an aperitif but also goes along perfectly with starters.
The name of this cuvée derives from the Bacquaert family’s tradition to produce sparkling wines. Until a decade ago, Champagne Bacquaert was produced by Françoise Bacquaert in Damery. This tradition then continued on the wine estate Entre-Deux-Monts and this is how the Bacquaert Brut from Heuvelland was born.
The Bacquaert is ready to drink immediately and is best consumed within the year.
Méthode Traditionnelle and 30 months ‘sur lattes’, 35% 'reserve perpetuelle' Chardonnay sinds 2010 aged in French Oak. This sparkling wine gets the official 'BelBul' label.
Soil: sand-loam with Diestian sand, ironstone, flint stones and gravel. Underneath this, well-drained layers of Ledian and Paniselian sand
Climate: cool temperate climate influenced by the North Sea
Sustainable viticulture: defoliation, green harvesting, 5 km of indigenous hedges and sowing flower seeds against natural predators, sowing grass seeds to prevent erosion, using compost
Minimizing the ecological footprint (Certificate Carbon Footprint by Ecolife in Leuven):
The contribution of pinot noir, wood aging and 30-month maturation ‘sur lattes’ make this sparkling wine broadly gastronomic. Think of a reception with rich appetisers, dishes with seafood, smoked fish, white meat or entourage. At the same time, also with dishes with a bitter flavour such as with chicory, asparagus, hop shoots or with roasted or smoked flavour influences such as grilled scallops or gratinated oysters.
Serving temperature: 8°C.
