While the vineyard is enjoying a quiet winter dormancy, we continue working enthusiastically behind the scenes. The new year brings many changes. Next to our current building in Westouter, construction is well underway on a new Entre-Deux-Monts site.
On the former site of ‘De Wielewaal’, the foundations of what will become our new production facility are now clearly visible. A brand-new building where, in the future, the entire production of our wines will take place located just 100 metres from our existing building.
This means that we are not moving. Our address remains unchanged and our shop and wine bar will continue to welcome visitors at the familiar location, in the saddle valley between the Rodeberg and the Zwarteberg. What will change is that an extension will be added next to the current building, allowing us to bring the full production of our wines together in one single location. Today, a large part of that production still takes place in Vlamertinge, in the former beverage warehouse of grandfather Jean and later father Yves Bacquaert. In the future, we want to shorten the distance to our production facility and install it as close as possible to our vineyards. This makes it a logical step for our estate.
What the building will ultimately look like and when it will become operational remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the 2026 harvest will not yet be processed in this new production facility. For that, we still need just a little more time.
We start 2026 full of confidence ready to give shape to this new project and once again warmly welcome our visitors for a tour or tasting. A year in which, on the slopes of the Zwarteberg, a new building will slowly but surely rise, as we continue to build towards the future of Entre-Deux-Monts.
To be continued!
