Pinot La Douve

White wine

The Pinot la Douve is made of Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. The alcohol percentage is 12%.

This wine is an assembly of Pinot varieties. The name La Douve is derived from the Douve Valley next to our vineyards, where the Douve has its source.

A fresh, aromatic and elegant wine with length and tension. It has a broad potential since it can be served as a great aperitif or with fish or poultry.

The Pinot La Douve is ready to drink immediately and is best consumed within 2 years.

Tasting Notes

  • Colour: light yellow, bright and brilliant
  • On the nose: pure, mineral and elegant, with aromas of apricot, peach, pear and yellow flowers
  • On the palate: fresh, juicy fruit, fine acidity and nice length
     
Proefnotities

Vinification

Fermentation/ageing: soft pressing with a pneumatic press, fermentation at 15-16°C. Ageing on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for five months, batonnage in stainless steel.

Viticulture and terroir

Soil: sand-loam mixed with Diestian sand, ironstone, flint stones and gravel. Underneath this, well-drained layers of Ledian and Paniselian sand.

Climate: cool temperate climate influenced by the North Sea

Sustainable viticulture: defoliation, green harvest, 10 km of indigenous hedges and sowing flower seeds to attract natural predators, sowing grass to prevent erosion, using compost
